Artists! Submit to ViewPoint and Nova Scotia Masterworks!

ViewPoint Gallery is looking for photo based submissions for the One Art exhibition happening this September. The idea behind the exhibition is to celebrate the life and work of poet Elizabeth Bishop. Artists are invited to create work based on Bishop's poem One Art. You can view a copy of the poem at Deadline for entries is April 15, 2011 and there's a $25 entry fee. Each artist can submit up to five images. Each additional image costs an extra $10.

The Nova Scotia Masterworks Awards Foundation is looking for submissions for the 2011 Lieutenant Governor's Arts Award. The prize this year is $37,000. Submissions will include things like writing, performance, visual art, media or design. There must be a strong connection to Nova Scotia in the final product. For the nomination form and guidelines, go to Submissions must be postmarked on or before April 29.
