Elizabeth Bishop. Artists are invited to create work based on Bishop's poem
One Art. You can view a copy of the poem at www.viewpointgallery.ca. Deadline for entries is April 15, 2011 and there's a $25 entry fee. Each artist can submit up to five images. Each additional image costs an extra $10.
The Nova Scotia Masterworks Awards Foundation is looking for submissions for the 2011 Lieutenant Governor's Arts Award. The prize this year is $37,000. Submissions will include things like writing, performance, visual art, media or design. There must be a strong connection to Nova Scotia in the final product. For the nomination form and guidelines, go to www.nsmasterworks.ca. Submissions must be postmarked on or before April 29.
